WELCOME to The Advocate's questionnaire aimed at evaluating and improving the professional environment for young lawyers in Singapore law firms, including various employment conditions such as career support, mentorship, firm culture, and work-life balance.

The questions are designed to obtain an accurate view of Associateship Practice Experience and Journey, as well as to introduce new perspectives and issues under-discussed in Singapore to all Associates.


Our Purpose
We're working to enhance the professional environment in Singapore law firms, with a focus on mentorship quality, career development, and work-life balance. Our approach is simple: recognize excellence and encourage positive change. Firms that excel get acknowledged, while others remain unlisted - no negative exposure, just recognition of best practices.


Your feedback is crucial for driving positive change in the industry
It helps to identify both good and poor practices within law firms, contribute to creating better career development opportunities and inspire positive change by showcasing firms that excel in supporting young lawyers


Our objective is not to criticize, but to highlight excellence and motivate firms to adopt best practices for the benefit of all young professionals.  Firms that do not rank or rank too low simply remain unlisted rather than facing negative exposure – but your feedback is still needed to establish this.


We take your confidentiality seriously, with multiple layers of protection in place.
The answers required of you through our Questionnaire are based on your personal experiences, instead of client information, specific case details, firm financial data, trade secrets or privileged communications – and none should be revealed by you in the Open Ended parts of this Questionnaire.  

All responses are secured with enterprise-grade encryption and processed in strict compliance with PDPA guidelines. We only publish anonymized, aggregated data, and your individual responses remain completely confidential. Your information will never  be shared with individual firms or third parties. Information and Verification
To participate in the survey, we need three essential pieces of information (on the first page of our Questionnaire): your law firm name, practice area, and one identifier of your choice - either your corporate email or information visible through Linkedin via one of our Outreachers. You'll also need to confirm your status as an active Associate. 

1) Confirm you are an active Associate or Senior Associate in your law firm (compulsory)
2) Provide your law firm name  (compulsory)
3) Provide your practice area  (compulsory)
4A) Provide your corporate email address* OR
4B) Provide your Linkedin Email that is shown on your linkedin profile provided you have connected with one of our Outreachers (and please state who)

*If you are choosing this method of verification, after completing the survey, simply send an email to us – even a blank email – at verify@theadvocate.sg, from your corporate email address.

We'll validate your questionnaire answers submission promptly after verification.
